In short, anything. We’ve just about seen it all from electrical shorts to gas leaks and water damage right out of the factory. In one case, we fought to have a very expensive Super C motorhome go back to the factory for a rebuild only to have it returned with more problems. In the end, with the dealership’s help, the manufacturer replaced it with a brand-new unit after waiting almost 8 months.
Here is the tough part: When you leave the dealership with your band-new RV, it may take weeks (or even months) before you realize that there are a few problems that need attention. No worries, your RV is under warranty, right? What you may not know is that with global parts shortages, service appointments can take weeks or even months to get in some cases.
Another example we saw was that the carbon monoxide detector was missing on a brand-fifth wheel coach. We pointed this out to the buyer as a life-safety issue and had it rectified right away.
